Chocolate frosting

Ingredients[]

  • 1 stick (½ cup) vegan margarine or one cup Organic All Vegetable Shortening
  • ⅔ cup cocoa
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • ⅓ cup soy or nut milk if too thick add more liquid until desired consistency
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions[]

  1. Melt margarine.
  2. Stir in cocoa.
  3. Alternately add powdered sugar and milk, beating on medium speed to spreading consistency.
  4. Add more milk, if needed.
  5. Add vanilla.
  6. Makes enough to frost a round 9" layered cake or one 9" x 13" square cake.
